Lithium-ion Battery Safety by Prevention, Detection, and Control of Thermal Runaway
Dr. Vikas Tomar is a Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Director of the Interfacial Multiphysics Lab at Purdue University. He received his B.Tech. from the National Institute of Technology, India, M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, and Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Tomar has received numerous awards. He was named a Purdue University Faculty Scholar, 2016 to 2021. In 2013, he received the Kauffman ELA Award, Purdue University, appointed Advisory Editor of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering, Elsevier, and appointed Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Experimental and Computational Biomechanics. Dr. Tomar's general research focuses on microstructure dependent fracture and fatigue failure of materials, multiscale simulations of material processing, multifunctional materials and systems, and bio-inspired and -enabled materials.
