Dr. Carol Handwerker is the Reinhardt Schuhmann Jr. Professor of Materials Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Handwerker received a B.A. in Art History from Wellesley College, a S.B. in Material Science and Engineering, S.M. in Ceramics, and Sc.D. in Ceramics all from MIT. Her research interests include development and application of thermodynamic and kinetic theory and experiments of phase transformations and interface motion to solve important industrial and scientific problems.
