Dr. Arun K. Ghosh is the Ian P. Rothwell Distinguished Professor of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University. He earned his MS in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Ghosh was the recipient of the 2015 Herbert Newby McCoy Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions in broad areas of organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemistry that have improved human health. He is the recipient of the American Chemical Society Medicinal Chemistry Hall of Fame in 2013, the CRSI Medal from the Chemical Research Society of India in 2012, the National Institutes of Health MERIT Award in 2011, the IUPAC Richter Prize in 2010, and the American Chemistry Society's Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award in 2010. Dr. Ghosh's research group is involved in multidisciplinary research projects in the areas of synthetic organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemistry.
