Details

Dr. Xianfan Xu is the James J. and Carol L. Shuttleworth Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (by courtesy) at Purdue University. He received his B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Xu received Purdue's Mechanical Engineering Ruth and Joel Spira Award in 2013 and Discovery in Mechanical Engineering Award in 2009, and named fellows of SPIE in 2009 and ASME in 2007. His research interests include nanoscale energy transport and nano-optics and laser-based nano-optical engineering.
