Mr. William J. Hutzel is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University. Professor Hutzel earned a B.S. and M.S. from Pennsylvania State University. His academic career has focused on learning, discovery, and engagement related to high performance buildings. Professor Hutzel's research focuses on ways to integrate cost effective energy technologies with renewable energy to achieve buildings that are net zero in terms of their annual demand for off-site electricity. In addition to technical work, Professor Hutzel has also assisted with energy policy as a Congressional Fellow in Washington, D.C.
