Details

Dr. Arvind Varma is the R. Games Slayter Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Varma earned his B.S. from Panjab University, his M.S. from the University of New Brunswick, and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Varma received the 2017 Giulio Natta Medal in Chemical Engineering, named for the 1963 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry. In 2016, Dr. Varma received the Arden L. Bement Jr. Award, Purdue's top award in pure and applied science and engineering, and named to Purdue's Innovator Hall of Fame. He received the 2015 Sigma Xi Research Award from the Purdue Chapter of Sigma Xi, a scientific research society. He earned the Leadership Award from the College of Engineering at Purdue in 2011. Dr. Varma's research group investigates topics in hydrogen and other energy sources and chemical and catalytic reaction engineering.
