Dr. Douglas Adams is the former Kenninger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems at Purdue University. He is now the Daniel F. Flowers Professor of Engineering, Chair of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Distinguished Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Adams earned a B.S. from University of Cincinnati, M.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. from University of Cincinnati. His research interests include nonlinear structural dynamics and vibration, structural diagnostics/health monitoring and prognostics, applications in aerospace and automotive systems, applications in energy systems including wind turbines and batteries, and noise and vibration control.
