Dr. Richard Borch is Professor Emeritus and former Head and Lilly Distinguished Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University. Dr. Borch earned a B.S. from Stanford University, Ph.D. from Columbia University, and M.D. from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Borch received the 2013-2014 Dr. Aziz Outstanding Teaching Award; he was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences in recognition of his distinguished contributions to the field of anticancer drugs. His research focuses on the development of new drugs for the treatment of cancer. Current efforts focus on the design, synthesis, and activation mechanisms of novel prodrugs.
