Details

Dr. John R. Rice is the W. Brooks Fortune Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Professor of Mathematics (courtesy) at Purdue University. He is the founder of the ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software and is on several other editorial boards. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Rice's research includes analyzing numerical methods and problem solving environments for scientific computing. He developed the ELLPACK system for elliptic problems.
