Dr. C. Richard Liu is a Professor and Director of Global Programs in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Liu received his B.S. from the National Cheng Kung University, M.S. from the University of Cincinnati, and Ph.D. from Purdue University. Dr. Liu has been recognized with many awards for his contribution in creating large-scale benefit for industrial competitiveness through developing innovative technology. A few such awards include the IR 100 Award, ASME Ennor Award, and the SME Research Application Award. His current research focuses on finish hard machining, surface integrity and fatigue life, coating of nano- and microsized particles, effective and innovative problem solving, e-Factory, and competitive strategy.
