Chmielewski, Jean A Anne


Dr. Jean Chmielewski is the Alice Watson Kramer Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Purdue University. Dr. Chmielewski earned a B.S. from Saint Joseph's University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. She was also a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller University and the University of California, Berkeley. She was named Outstanding Teacher in the College of Science from 2006-2009, and in 2008, she was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2011, she was awarded the American Chemical Society's Edward Leete Award. Dr. Chmielewski received the 2017 Herbert Newby McCoy Award, Purdue's most prestigious award in the natural sciences. Dr. Chmielewski's research focuses on the development of small molecules, peptides, and peptidomimetics for applications including drug discovery, bionanotechnology, and cellular delivery of therapeutic agents.
