Details

Dr. Yung C. Shin is the Donald A. and Nancy G. Roach Professor of Advanced Manufacturing in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Shin was named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2010, finalist for TechPoint's Mira Award in 2009, Received the 2008 Indiana 21st Century Research & Technology Fund Outstanding Achievement Award. Dr. Shin's research interests include laser-based and intelligent manufacturing, intelligent and adaptive control, advanced machining processes, intelligent monitoring and diagnostics, and digital machining systems.
