Details

Ei-ichi Negishi, Ph.D., was the Herbert C. Brown Distinguished Professor and the Teijin Limited Director of the Negishi-Brown Institute of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Negishi received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in December 2010 for developing reactions that allow complex organic compounds to be created more efficiently. In 2014, he was elected into the National Academy of Sciences, one of the highest honors given to a scientist or engineer in the United States. He was also the author of several books and over 400 research papers.

Dr. Negishi died on June 6, 2021, at the age of 85.
