Dr. Edward Delp III is the Charles William Harrison Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and Professor of Psychological Sciences (by courtesy) at Purdue University. Dr. Delp was named the 2015 Scientist of the Year by the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, for his contributions to multimedia security and image and video compression. In 2014, he received the Morrill Award, which recognizes faculty whose careers have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and in engagement missions. He is currently a fellow of many professional societies including IEEE, SPIE, and the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Dr. Delp has contributed over 450 papers on his research interests including image and video compression, multimedia security, medical imaging, multimedia systems, and information theory.
