Details

Dr. Yiying Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was then a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Zhang's research interests span operating systems, distributed systems, computer networking, computer architecture, security, and big data, with a focus on building software systems for emerging hardware and applications. She is currently exploring new ways to build software systems for future datacenters. Dr. Zhang lead WukLab, a systems research lab at Purdue. In the past, she has worked in various aspects of computer systems, including system implications of non-volatile main memory, removing excess indirection in storage systems, storage-level caching, and redundant arrays.
