Dr. Carson Slabaugh is Assistant Professor of Aeronautics & Astronautics at Purdue University. Dr. Slabaugh earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida before competing his Ph.D. at Purdue University. Dr. Slabaugh's research interests include the physics of fluid mechanics and combustion in the operating regimes of advanced propulsion and energy systems. Ongoing projects cover a wide spectrum; from fundamental exploration of turbulence-chemistry interactions and detonation wave propagation to development of advanced combustion technologies, including high-pressure swirl combustors and rotating detonation engines.
