Dr. Andres Arrieta is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes. Dr. Arrieta earned the ETH Postdoctoral Fellowship award. His current research interests are in the areas of advanced compliant structures and smart material systems exploiting nonlinear behavior for creating novel functionality.
