Dr. Meng Deng is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and an Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering by courtesy at Purdue University. Dr. Deng received a B.E. in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Dr. Deng received the Society for Biomaterials STAR award and an outstanding thesis award in recognition of his doctoral work. He received the Young Scientist Award from the 2012 World Biomaterials Congress. Dr. Deng's research interests include biomaterials, drug delivery, nanotechnology, and regenerative engineering. The Deng Lab focuses on both the fundamental understanding of cellular processes in tissue development and engineering effective biomaterial systems for therapeutic applications.
