Details

Dr. Weinong Wayne Chen is the Riley Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Materials Engineering and the Aeronautics and Astronautics Associate Head for Graduate Education at Purdue University. Dr. Chen earned his B.S. in Aircraft Structure Design and M.S. in Aircraft System Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He earned his Ph.D. in Aeronautics with a minor in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Chen's research interests include mechanical response of advanced materials under extreme conditions, microstructural effects on mechanical behavior, fatigue behavior of engineering materials, and experimental solid and structural mechanics.
