Dr. Eugenio Culurciello is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and by courtesy an Associate Professor of Psychological Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Culurciello received an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He has received the National Science Foundation CAREER and Young Investigator Awards and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). Dr. Culurciello's research interests include synthetic vision systems and algorithms for replicating human vision in hardware, biomedical instrumentation for optical brain-machine interfaces, cell physiology, silicon-on insulator/silicon on-sapphire circuits and systems, sensor and biosensor interfaces, and integrated circuits.
