Dr. Leslie Geddes was a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. He was awarded the 2006 National Medal of Technology, the highest national award for technological innovation. Dr. Geddes held thirty patents for devices such as an energy-efficient defibrillator, regenerative tissue grafts, and a portable electrocardiogram. His research focused on electromyography, cardiac output, cardiac pacing, ventricular defibrillation, and blood pressure.
