Researchers at Purdue University have developed a technology for reducing the amount of storage space required to run mobile applications via streaming data from cloud or nearby servers. This also improves speed of starting an app, as the data is cached on the device or streamed from a nearby edge rather than being downloaded from the remote central server. This technology has applications in the mobile device space where users can access app content faster while requiring less storage space.

Advantages
- Reduces amount of stored data needed to run applications
- Reduces the time required to start a new application
- Enables more interactive real-time mobile apps, like mobile games

Applications
- Mobile computing/smartphones

Technology Validation: This technology has been validated through testing of the software.
