96-well plates are used for assays, which are analytic procedures in a laboratory environment. In order to process spheroids and organoids, they must be transferred from a 96-well plate into a deep histology cassette. Currently, there is no way to transfer spheroids or organoids without tedious and labor intensive manual transferring. Researchers at Purdue University have developed a 96-well Collapsible Basket Array (CBA) for high throughput culture and histology analysis of tumor spheroid/organoids. This technology eliminates the manual transferring of spheroids and organoids. It is designed to transfer spheroids and organoids cultured in a standard 96-well plate into a deep histology cassette while maintaining the original 8x12 array registry so that spheroids and organoids can be processed, paraffin-embedded, and sectioned as the 8x12 spheroid microarray. Advantages: -Maintains original 8x12 array registry -96-well cultured spheroids/organoids can be processed -Biocompatible for spheroid culture Potential Applications: -96-well plates -8x12 array registries -Spheroid/organoid processes |
