CRANE-103104
NSWC Crane has developed, patented, and fielded a hand tool for loosening and tightening cable connection. When tightening the cable connectors, the hand tool compresses the mating cable sections and creates a seal between them. The hand tool prevents over torqueing the connection and is small enough to be used in confined spaces where wrenches are unable to fit.

Advantages
- Can be used in small, confined areas where tools with long handles may not fit
- Prevents over-torqueing of cable connections
- Easy to use with slick hands and/or in poor conditions such as rain

Potential Applications
- Ship yards
- Applications where assistance securing cable connections is needed such as garden hoses
- Assistive device for persons with arthritis or other needs
