In a variety of different contexts, it is desirable to test electronic equipment and collect data from the tests for evaluation and analysis. Such tests can involve a plurality of inputs that are often seen in the field, and accordingly, the tests seek to monitor those inputs and the results produced.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has developed and patented a method and system for testing electronic equipment, and more particularly, a computer implemented method for interlacing and prioritizing electronic messages in a message stream. This system offers a computer readable medium storing code for electronic messages from a plurality of sources. The code includes instructions to receive, prioritize and store messages. In addition, the generation of the output data stream includes a sequence that first detects if any un-outputted messages exist having first priority, and second, places the earliest received un-outputted messages having the first priority into the output data stream.
