Electromagnetic interference can be caused by electromagnetic spectrum transmitters generating interference signals that cause degradation or other interference effects in a particular electromagnetic spectrum receiver such as radio frequency transmitters, quantum computing systems, infrared systems, or any system that modulates and transmits an electromagnetic spectrum signal. Existing blanking systems are not able to adequately address the number of transmitter combinations and other issues that can cause interference.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has developed and patented a blanking system for controlling interference with communications, navigation, and radio receivers that operate in relative proximity to one or more transmitters. This system generates blanking or control signals for various types of radio frequency receiver and transmitter combinations routing control signals to a related or associated receiver to reduce or eliminate interference effects.

Advantages:
-Provides control signals for various types of receivers and transmitters
-Stores modified control signal data in memory and uses the data for future control signal generation
