Infrared (IR) guided missiles are very difficult to find as they approach aircraft. In most cases, pilots have to rely on their wingmen to spot the missile's smoke trail. Once the presence of an IR missile is indicated, flares are released by the aircraft in an attempt to decoy the missile.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has developed and patented a multiple bay ejection system that facilitates the ejection of a payload capable of capturing an IR seeking sensor's attention and distracting it from the aircraft. This system provides additional payloads that eliminates the need for reloading, provides the ability to release more than one decoy, and works with existing IR decoy technology (no retrofitting).

-Provides additional payloads
-Reduces reloading necessity
- Works with existing IR decoy technology, which eliminates the cost associated with retrofitting
