In the commercial and military communications field, it is often necessary to carry stand alone or vehicle mounted antenna masts to receive radio frequency signals. Vehicle mounted masts tend to be cumbersome and raises a vehicle's height or weight substantially. Height and weight are important in military vehicles because they usually ship to the field via aircraft. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has developed, and patented a vehicle and mast mounting assembly system that provides a pivot end and an extendable end with clamp assemblies for clamping retention of the mast in an erect or stowed position. Advantages: -Can be wall mounted -Allows retention in a stowed or erect position -Can be attached to a vehicle Potential Applications: -Military -Communications |
