Weapon systems mounted on aircraft, especially helicopters, usually accommodate a specific weapon type/model. There is a need for a weapon system that integrates updated weapons. In addition, it must have an effective ammunition feed system and a casing and link ejection system.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has developed and patented an armament system for aircrafts that includes a gun mount and an ejection system for a machine gun. The gun mount and ejection system includes an ejection chute assembly including a hopper positioned intermediate the uprights of a carriage supporting the machine gun. This system delivers an effective ammunition feed system and an efficient casing and link ejection system while impeccably integrating updated weapons onto helicopters.

Advantages:
-Integrate updated weapons onto helicopters
-Effective ammunition feed system
-Effective casing and link ejection system

Potential Applications:
-Weapon systems
