System and Method for Focusing a Kinetic Pulse Array

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), has patented a family of technologies for a system and method for focusing a kinetic pulse array. The basic premise behind the technology is a method of transmitting synchronized kinetic pulses to an underground target. It works by generating seismic waves and measuring the reflections from density or stiffness changes. An onboard computing system allows for optimization of detonation so that the pressure wave from the individual explosions hit the target with maximum effect.
