Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has designed and patented an add-on system that integrates a rifle and an attached grenade launcher. This add-on system helps to determine the distance to a target based on a laser range finder. Once the distance is determined, the angle of the grenade launcher is automatically adjusted. This innovation makes it unnecessary for a gunner to change sites and to have the ability to continuously track without breaking line-of-sight. This invention and the patented technology would be useful to law enforcement, military, and in the sporting goods industry. Advantages The range finder and automatic adjustment reduces the amount of training required to become proficient with a projectile launcher. Potential Applications - Military - Law Enforcement - First Responder - Sporting Goods |
