CRANE-99603
Calorimeters in the current state of the art technology have disadvantages such as unwanted thermal conductivity, a restricted sample size and/or shape, restricted to a "fixed" reference, and maintenance problems.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) has developed and patented a design for a top loaded, twin cell calorimeter system with a removable reference. This new design offers improvements over out-dated calorimeter technology. It features a changed location and decreased size of the peltier modules, allows for a wider range of sample-reference pairs, and has improved sample-reference separation to facilitate customization.

Advantages:
- Removable sample and reference compartments
- Small space requirement
- Improved sensitivity and responsiveness
