Currently, there is a need for tutor training focused on specific campus programs in many institutions across the nation. Several institutions and groups have developed online components for their tutor training, but they keep the training internally. A few certifying agencies exist in the field; however, they only provide training requirements and hold the organization or individual responsible for providing their own training. Researchers at Purdue University have developed an online training module that meets the need of two- and four-year institutions across the nation. The module provides quality materials, allows for self-paced users, and the potential for massive enrollment. Ultimately, the module provides students who are receiving academic assistance with more effective tutoring options. Advantages: -Available for many institutions and independent/private tutors. -Provides general tutoring tips and training with a consistent message and foundation in tutoring Applications: -Higher Education -Tutor Training |
